IT’S SOCIAL TIME

Fr. Gene Schroeder  Pastor

If it’s July, that must mean it’s time for our annual parish social.  Through the years, our parish  has gathered to work together as a community, to have some fun and to raise money for the parish.  A lot has changed in these one hundred and sixty years, but the spirit of cooperation and sense of caring for our parish has remained constant.

Of course it takes a lot of work from lots of people to make this happen.  Inside this issue of The Carpenter is a complete list of the workers for all the various booths.  We need the chairpersons of each booth and the workers themselves to check this list to make sure it is accurate.

One thing will be new for our social.  Thanks to the efforts  of several of our parishioners we have some new, state of the art, social stands.  Because these stands are much easier to assemble we are making a change in the time for our social set up.  We will be setting up the stands on Thursday, July 24, instead of our normal Monday set up day. In addition to setting up the stands, we want to set up the tent for the children’s events, the chicken frying area, the dining room  and bingo areas.  We need lots of help on this day and we need each of the booth chairpersons to come to make sure their new booth is set up to meet their needs                    ......more
