St. Joseph Preschool and Pre-K Programs
St. Joseph Preschool and Pre-K programs are developmental programs designed to nurture the growth of the whole child. Our primary goal is to help young children develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually in a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment.
- Social/Emotional: Children will develop a positive self-concept, build confidence, and demonstrate a genuine concern for others.
- Cognitive: Children will develop skills and a love of learning that will support lifelong learning.
- Physical: Children will develop age-appropriate gross motor and fine motor skills.
- Spiritual: Children will learn to follow Jesus’ example by treating others with kindness and respect and by understanding that God’s love is everlasting.
Children learn best through direct interaction with their environment and through meaningful experiences. Each child is provided with an appropriate balance of structured time, individual time, and group time. Our classroom environment is designed to provide opportunities for both freedom and choice while maintaining the structure young children need to feel secure and successful.
Through carefully selected learning materials, developmentally appropriate activities, purposeful choices, and a variety of teaching strategies, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace. In a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment, children have opportunities to develop independence, confidence, self-esteem, and a strong foundation for future learning.
