OFFERING YOUR HELP

LOOKING FOR A WAY TO OFFER YOUR TIME AND TALENTS TO HELP OUR PARISH?  CHECK THESE OUT.

MAITENANCE OF OUR PARISH FACILITIES AND GROUNDS

St. Joseph Parish has a strong “hands-on” tradition of taking care of our parish facilities and grounds.  We have many parishioners, who are members of various trades (electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, landscaping, bricklayers, carpenters, etc).  We have been blessed by the fact that they have offered their time and expertise as the need for their services arises.  Because of these efforts, our parish has been able to keep the actual maintenance costs for our parish grounds and facilities at a very low level.  To offer your services, contact the Parish Office  (963-3273).

COLLECTION COUNTERS

Collection counters count all the moneys collected at the weekend masses and deposit the money in the bank.  Teams of persons (usually two) count the collection on Sunday per month.  Currently there are five different collection-counting teams.  New people are always needed.  If you are interested contact our parish secretary, Julie Kempf  (812-963-3273).

LAWN MOWING CREWS

This group of individuals mows the grass in our cemetery and the parish grounds on a rotating basis during the mowing season  (April--October).   All mowing equipment is provided.  Mowing is usually done on Thursday afternoon and evening, but can also accommodate an individual persons schedule.  Currently we have five different mowing crews consisting of six to eight people.  New people are always needed.   Contact the parish office (812-963-3273) to offer your help.

SUMMER SOCIAL

The Summer Social, held on the last Sunday in July, is the largest single fundraising event within the parish, and it all happens on one day.  However, planning and coordination go on throughout the year. The Summer Social Chair Couples oversee the entire social, but there are lots of individual volunteer booth chairpersons and volunteers to help setup, work during the social and tear down and put away all social stands and equipment,  This is a great opportunity to get to know other people in the parish, have some great fun and help out the parish financially.  For more information contact the parish office  (812-963-3273)

LENTEN FISH FRYS

Each Lent, our parish conducts a  fish fry on two Friday’s.  The Fish Fry is an opportunity for fellowship as well as helping to provide money for the operation of our parish.  Volunteers are always needed as well as people who are willing to coordinate this effort.  Current Chairpersons for our Fish Fry are Mike  and Jenny Collins (401-4738) Contact them or the  parish office for more information
