REACHing for a Closer Relationship with God A weekend of information, learning and fellowship for High School Students 9 am to 3:30 pm Saturday and Sunday Weekends are held at Seton Conference Center on the Campus of the Daughters of Charity Provincial House located on outer Harmony Way We need people who care about kids and are willing to spend some time with them…..The youth are formed into small groups for the weekend and these small groups of six to seven youth need an adult table leader. The role of the table leader is to help their youth complete the activities, stay on task, bring questions from the group to the catechists. Your role is to facilitate the discussion and activities. You help them understand the directions, have everyone be involved in the activity, get them started on the activity and help them wrap up in the allotted time. If you are an adult interested in working with high school youth, please be in touch. You can reach me at the parish 963-3273 svogler@evansville-diocese.org or at home 867-3848.

THANK YOU....AN UPDATE Sharon Vogler DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION It has been almost six months since our mission trip to Vladivostok, Russia in July and our lives continue to be changed. On behalf of all seven of us who were able to go on the mission trip to I just want to say Thank You! Thanks to your generosity and support for our mission trip, we were able to see life in Vladivostok first hand. Upon our return, we have shared our story with others, and received donations for the work of Fr. Myron and Mary Mother of God Mission. We still have vivid memories of life in Vladivostok! Since our return, we have considered two needs that we experienced while in Vladivostok. We decided to begin with the hospice. From my perspective, it is a mix between a hospice and nursing home as I know them. The hospice has beds for thirty people and often has more than thirty people staying there. Most of these adults are over sixty years of age. They are either referrals from the hospital, or they are homeless and ill. Undoubtedly, the hospice has had a lasting effect on me and many of those who went on the mission trip. We decided that one of our first goals upon returning home would be to raise money for a clothes dryer for the hospice. Their clothes and bed sheets are currently hung in the hallways and in the bedrooms. Between a warm and humid summer and cold and wet winter, drying clothes is not easy. In the past six months, we have been able to raise over $1300 for the dryer and costs and the work of the hospice. Thank you to everyone who has given for the hospice! And, again, Thank You! to everyone who gave to make our mission trip possible. Your generosity is what has given us our firsthand experience, the opportunity to share this experience with others and a continuing desire to help the people of Mary Mother of God parish and Vladivostok.
