Would you like to have the opportunity to meet new people, become lightly involved; yet help your parish in a much needed way? The St. Anne’s Altar Society offers this perfect opportunity for its members. The purpose of the Society is to encourage its members to participate in spiritual activities of the church with its primary interest being the care of the altar. St. Anne’s furnishes the missals, songbooks, and lectionaries used at mass. They also provide the altar candles, votive candles, baptismal candles, communion hosts, altar wine and palms for Palm Sunday services. In recent years they have furnished such items as altar cloths, candelabra, vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning, and other much needed items for the church and altar. St. Anne’s contributes to the Christmas Store, sponsors State Hospital patients at Christmas, distributes fruit baskets to homebound parishioners during the Holiday Season, and donates non-perishable items to the food pantry. They also contribute to Habitat for Humanity and have pledged to the building fund. Along with these contributions, they also co-host the mother-daughter banquet in the spring and have a Christmas dinner for the members in December. Each month, we pray for the living and deceased members of the Society at a special Mass. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at 7 pm in the meeting room. (No meetings held in June, July and August) Meetings begin with a prayer, followed by a short business meeting, refreshments, and a few games of Bingo for those who wish to play. Come join the fun and help St. Joseph parish carry out its ministry to all the parishioners. The time and energy spent will be very rewarding .Want more information? Contact: Jan Hermann 963-5703

The St. Joe Men’s Club is a social organization for men of the St. Joe Community. At Men’s Club meetings, members both young and old share a meal and enjoy a great deal of fellowship together while at the same time performing valuable services for the Parish. The club has numerous fund-raising events throughout the year including: Burgoo in October, Spot Shoots in October and November, Sausage Sales in both the fall and winter, Raffles and Dinner/Dances. Proceeds from these events are used to support projects and needs within the Parish, our Community and the Diocese. The club is proud to have supported the following projects in the last few years: The Christmas Store; Habitat for Humanity; Project Graduation @ Mater Dei; Purchased Dishwasher for Kitchen; Provided some of the monies for the school playground equipment; Santa Clothes Club; Re-roof Garage and Concession stand; money for school computers; money for Parish Lawn Mowers; Refreshments for mowing crews; Renew 2000; purchased Ice-Machine for the parish The Men’s Club has always supported previous building projects at the church… from building the garage to sealing the bricks on the church. We helped build the baseball fields and with the installation of the sprinkler system in the school. We also pledged $75,000.00 as an organization towards the recent construction of the Multi-purpose Building. We are proud that this pledge was paid off a couple of years ago, and that we have continued to support this building effort. Come and be a part of our organization while you also help the parish and our community… you may find that you enjoy yourself in the process. While you’re at it bring a friend, relative or neighbor.
